Republicans just lost in Alabama
What fools Republicans are. They’re like wind-up dolls, stuck in their miserable and greedy lives, trying their same old tricks again and again to no avail. The state of Alabama is at least 25% Black. And its districts are also tilted very unfairly against Black people.
A few months ago activists won a court case that said Alabama republicans had violated the Voting Rights Act by not providing equal participation for Black people in elections. Alabama has only one district for Black Alabamans. One!
So this was a win and republicans were ordered to draw a new map with an additional Black district. Republicans ignored the court order. I mean — literally, they just did not do as the court said. And this week the map was struck down for a second time because of course it was.
And the court has appointed a special master to draw the new district for republicans, since they seem unwilling and unable to do it themselves.
Democratic Rep. Terri Sewell of Alabama was thrilled. “Today’s decision is yet another victory for Black voters and for the promise of fair representation.” she declared.
Indeed, this decision was well received by everyone who are not racists. That does not include republicans who very clearly ARE racists. Reportedly Alabama Republicans are fuming about it all.
Sure they are. Because the GOP, like the issue of abortion have given in to their worst impulses. They basically said “up yours” to the court the first time. Did they REALLY expect to get away with it ?
This is a significant victory for the state of Alabama and we should all very happy about it. Republicans should just stop. How on earth can they be so stupid? (Rhetorical question.)
It seems they hate females, blacks and anyone else they deem unworthy so much, that they have stopped caring even about how they look to the general population.
