Republican Party descends into chaos

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

As ugly as things are for the Republican Party on the national level – a fired Speaker of the House and a 2024 “frontrunner” who’s headed for prison – things are even dicier for the Republican Party in Michigan.

The Michigan Republican Party is now trying to oust its own state chair, due to scandals and financial collapse. That’s right, the state Republican Party in Michigan is now upside down to the tune of half a million dollars. But the state chair is now insisting that the rest of the state party has no legal ability to oust her, meaning this could be headed for court.

This all comes even as Michigan is once again set to likely be a key Electoral College state in 2024, and even as certain Michigan House races could help decide the House majority. It looks like Michigan Republicans are heading into 2024 with no leadership, no resources, and plenty of chaos. So be it.
