Republican House is imploding already
People are saying that the Republican-led House divided — will stay a house divided, only things will GET WORSE, not better. “Nightmarish.” Former Florida Rep Carlos Curbelo, a Democrat, spoke to MSNBC and predicted chaos for the House in the next few years.
He also said the House might come to a complete standstill. One reason is that their margin of victory was so historically low. Carlos says that every single day, the GOP caucus will be in fear of one or two members being absent, and because of that, no legislation will be able to proceed.
There are also the warring factions. They have been at war with each other before, and that is not going to change. All it would take are a few House members rebelling and colluding for things to descend into insanity, and that is most likely exactly what will happen.
For Mike Johnson, leading will be very difficult because Trump will demand absolute obedience, and some House members thrive on drama and won’t give this loyalty. The House under Johnson’s leadership was always a wobbly house of cards ready to fall at any moment. The probability of such a thing coming to pass is even greater now.
Johnson is helpless to reign in some of the more crazed wild animals; it’d be like fighting cornered, hungry bobcats, it can’t be done. These people cannot be reasoned with, are entirely uncontrollable, and Johnson’s about to find out for himself that maybe the win he THOUGHT he had may soon look more like a nightmare.
