This last week has been a virtual wave of euphoria. It has. But I want to talk about something that, while not LOST in the news, is not being talked about with the right tone and needs to be given the right designation. That thing is misogyny.

Misogyny has been around for centuries, since the beginning of time, and it has not been limited to America, as you know. There are still far too many countries that demonstrate with frightening regularity the hatred and moral superiority that some feel over women.

Trying to subjugate women in the United States is like trying to catch the wind itself. It can’t be done. Yet we have on the GOP ticket—two misogynists. And while the media IS now talking about their dirty deeds, I’ve not seen too many refer to it as being what it is — misogyny.

Take Vance, for example. I wrote about the “miserable cat lady” comments. Some pundits have covered it rather awkwardly, calling it an unfortunate choice of words, calling it rude, calling it clueless, NOT calling it what it is — misogyny.

Think about the anger and scorn in what Vance said. Think about labeling an entire group of women, women he does not know personally and never will, miserable. Who does that? A misogynist.

Likewise there is now leaked audio from Vance revealing he’d support a federal response to women traveling out of state to get abortions. What does he want to do? Hold women back, kicking and screaming? It appears so.

This is not “awkward’ talk or ‘clueless” talk; on the contrary. Vance knows EXACTLY what he’s saying and says it anyway — because he’s a misogynist.

Then there’s Donald Trump. If Trump is not a misogynist, I don’t know who is. He is one big, woman-hating, sexually assaulting, misogynist pig and rapist. He is the EPITOME of what a woman hater is.

Yet, we do not hear that word. Perhaps the media fear it; maybe they don’t understand the word and the ramifications that go along with it. There have been MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of books about misogynists. I’d recommend: “Men who hate women and the women who love them”, by John Torres. But there are so many to choose from. Perhaps the media should be reading some of them.

In such a momentous time, we need REAL reporting; accurate facts about what they’re voting for. I would like to see this word make its way into the political discussions. I would like to see the truth be told — that these men are misogynists — because if the truth is told, no holds barred, then consequences will follow — the consequences of saying no to two misogynists and electing Kamala Harris.
