Rattled Donald Trump keeps asking if he’s going to die

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

How bad of shape is Donald Trump in right now? He’s been hospitalized with coronavirus, he’s been given two different experimental drugs, he’s having trouble breathing, and he’s been on supplemental oxygen at some point. But is he currently in danger of dying? He seems to think so.

In a remarkably strange development, Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman is reporting that Donald Trump keeps asking people around him, “Am I going out like Stan Chera? Am I?” Stan Chera is Trump’s associate who died of coronavirus earlier this year. It’s not difficult to see why Trump would have this fear; Chera is in his seventies and overweight, like Trump.

Just because Donald Trump thinks he might be about to die, it doesn’t make it so. No one is confusing Trump for a doctor. But this is a guy who has always narcissistically thought of himself as being bulletproof – and now he keeps asking people if he’s going to die. It speaks to his state of mind, and it raises even bigger questions about his current fitness for office. His mind is anywhere but the job.
