Looks like Rand Paul is lying about being “attacked” by protesters

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Last night Senator Rand Paul made the bizarre decision to walk out of the Republican National Convention after it was over, instead of taking a car. This meant he was walking right through a large number of protesters, in the middle of a pandemic. Paul now claims he was “attacked by an angry mob” and he’s implying that he would have died if not for the police.

Unfortunately for Rand Paul, multiple bystanders filmed his walk through the protesters. The first angle shows a police officer pushing an off-camera protester, the protester pushing back, and the police officer stumbling a bit and bumping slightly into Rand Paul. The second angle shows verbal confrontations between protesters and police, not involving Rand Paul.

Additional videos could potentially surface which support Rand Paul’s version of events. But these two videos appear to cover the entirety of his walk, and it seems clear that nothing happened to him. This stands in stark contrast with what Rand Paul tweeted about the incident: “Just got attacked by an angry mob of over 100, one block away from the White House. Thank you to @DCPoliceDept for literally saving our lives from a crazed mob.”

In other words, it very much appears Rand Paul is flat out lying about what transpired, in order to paint himself as a victim. This in turn raises questions about whether Paul purposely took his long walk through the protests, just so he could falsely claim he was “attacked.”
