Rachel Maddow just nailed it

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The Director of National Intelligence report released this week reveals that Russia and Iran each tried to meddle in the 2020 U.S. Presidential election, but neither got much traction. The report also reveals that China did not make an effort to meddle in the election. Until now there was no clear way for us to know whether China was meddling or not. But this report makes clear that government insiders knew all along that China wasn’t meddling.

This makes it all the more alarming that Donald Trump and so many of his top appointees spent the 2020 election publicly insisting that China was meddling in the election to try to make sure Trump lost. We already knew this was an attempt at distraction and deflection from Russia’s pro-Trump meddling; now we know that it was also a lie.

During her MSNBC show tonight, Rachel Maddow played clips of Trump officials including Bill Barr, Jeffrey Rosen, Robert O’Brien, and John Ratcliffe all insisting they’d seen evidence that China was meddling in the election. Now we know that they had in fact seen intel reports that stated the opposite. Shouldn’t these lies qualify as election fraud?
