Rachel Maddow just destroyed Donald Trump
If some cable news hosts are better than others, most can agree that Rachel Maddow is the best in the industry. She’s spent weeks using her MSNBC show to shine a spotlight on the deadly coronavirus outbreaks at nursing homes and meat processing plants, and she’s just not going to let it go until the government takes sufficient action. But at the end of her show, Maddow decided to have a little fun going right at Donald Trump.
When Trump toured a factory that makes masks today, he refused to wear a mask, even though there was a sign that said masks were required. At one point during Trump’s visit, the PA system began blasting the song “Live and let die.” It’s not yet known if someone was intentionally punking Trump, or if it was mere coincidence – but either way, the moment was too perfect. Maddow used the final minute of her show to air the surreal footage, and to openly mock Trump for his idiocy.
As Rachel Maddow was handing over to Lawrence O’Donnell, the two began riffing on the bizarre specter of Donald Trump wearing goggles but no mask while that particular song was playing. At one point Maddow seemed to be on the verge of suggesting that Trump was accustomed to wearing the goggles during his spray tan sessions, but she dipped out of frame laughing before she could complete the thought. Trump is a complete idiot.
