Jerome Corsi goes strangely quiet [updated]

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This morning, Roger Stone associate Jerome Corsi reversed course and announced to the media that he won’t be cutting a Trump-Russia plea deal with Special Counsel Robert Miller after all. If you’ve been paying close attention, this probably didn’t come as a surprise. As Palmer Report has been documenting, Corsi has spent the past several days tweeting like someone who’s definitely not cutting a deal. But now something seems to have changed.

Just hours after Jerome Corsi told reporters over the holiday weekend that he was negotiating a plea deal, he began tweeting and retweeting a series of deranged false claims about Mueller. This antithetical behavior from Corsi continued, all day every day, until late last night. But since then, he’s gone strangely quiet. In other words, now that he’s announced he’s not cutting a plea deal, he’s finally behaving like someone who is cutting a deal.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that Corsi is back at the negotiating table. There are other reasons to go quiet, such as finally listening to your attorney, who is always going to tell you to shut up when you’re on the verge of being indicted. But it sure is weird that, after spending his entire “negotiation” period ranting about Mueller and begging his supporters to fund his legal defense, he’s now finally gone quiet. Update: after eighteen hours of silence, Corsi posted a tweet reading “I have REJECTED Mueller’s plea deal” just 49 minutes after this article was published.
