Donald Trump goes berserk after questions surface about whether he really got shot

In the nearly two weeks since Donald Trump was shot at in a failed assassination attempt, he and his people have provided stunningly little information about his condition. He got a nonsensical letter from Ronny Jackson, a ludicrous bandage on Trump’s ear, and a claim by Trump on social media that he did in fact get shot in the ear. But now the adults are speaking, and Trump hates that.

FBI Director Christopher Wray has testified to Congress that there’s some question as to whether Trump got shot or instead got cut on the ear by exploding glass after the teleprompter got hit by a bullet. This isn’t a big deal either way. The story isn’t much different if Trump got shot in the ear, or got cut on the ear.

But Trump is now very, very upset that the public is finding out that maybe he didn’t actually get shot. He posted this late night rant on social media: “No, it was, unfortunately, a bullet that hit my ear, and hit it hard. There was no glass, there was no shrapnel. The hospital called it a “bullet wound to the ear,” and that is what it was.”

If Donald Trump did indeed get shot, then he should allow independent doctors to examine him in order to confirm his version of events. Short of that, there’s no reason to take Trump at his word – and it’s time for the media to start talking about how non-transparent Trump is being about the extent of his injuries.
