Vladimir Putin fires a warning shot at Donald Trump on his way out the door
Whatever Donald Trump was hoping to accomplish with his Ukraine plot, and whoever all might have been in on it, suffice it to say that the whole thing has backfired on everyone involved. Trump is in danger of ouster, and he’s in danger of taking everyone in his orbit down with him. Now the Kremlin is publicly warning Trump not to screw things up for Russia on his way out the door.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who clearly speaks for Vladimir Putin, just told the media that he hopes Donald Trump won’t release any records documenting Trump’s phone calls with Putin. When you place this within the context of Trump’s status as a Kremlin puppet who is obviously being blackmailed by Putin, it’s not difficult to parse this for what it is: a warning shot.
For whatever reason, Donald Trump is doing this bizarre thing where he’s swiftly releasing a bunch of documents that directly incriminate himself, even while asking the media to dig into the documents that might incriminate Mike Pence. Whoever is giving Trump advice right now, whether it’s a rogue White House adviser, or the voices in his head, is clearly steering Trump toward his swift downfall and everyone else’s downfall.
Vladimir Putin can see all of this from his perch. As Donald Trump continues to try to take himself and everyone else down with him in unhinged fashion, Putin has to worry that Trump could end up leaking all the dirty details about Trump and Russia as well. Putin is pretty clearly reminding Trump that he has more dirt on Trump than the other way around, and that Trump had better leave Putin out of this as he circles the drain.
