Putin and his puppets think they’re being canceled

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

One knows Putin is losing the battle when his Foreign Intelligence Service Director starts blubbering about “cancel culture.” That’s right. Per Raw Story, Sergey Naryshkin appears to be doing just that. The Washington Post was the first to post the following extraordinary comment from Naryshkin: “The masks are off. The West isn’t simply trying to close off Russia behind a new iron curtain. This is about an attempt to ruin our Government — to ‘cancel’ it, as they now say in ‘tolerant’ liberal-fascist circles.”

Wow. This is quite the statement. I have one crucial question. Are we REALLY sure the quote came from Naryshkin and not Tucker Carlson? I am being facetious with that remark. One knows it’s terrible for Putin when one of his people puts out a statement that sounds more like an irritated Republican Alt-right quack than like someone who is winning a war.

This is because they’re not winning. The comment was not only condemned but ridiculed. It does appear that Russia and the GOP seem to be swapping talking points these days. Perhaps that is because many in the GOP appear to have much in common with Putin.

In the Raw Story article, they note that this quote could have come right from Fox non-news presses, which is undoubtedly true. The bottom line is that Russia is most definitely NOT being canceled. Putin is. And it is with him that all of the blame should be cast.

It’s Putin who struck out at a country that is at peace, and that has never done a thing to him. It is Putin who is the war criminal — and nobody else. This is PUTIN’s war. He and he alone has the power to call off the violence. So if Naryskin or others want to blame someone? Blame your leader — a man stranded on his own island — an island devoid of soul, love, or human decency.
