Bernie Sanders has profane meltdown as pressure mounts for him to drop out

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

After Bernie Sanders got blown out in all three primary states last night and his chances of being the Democratic nominee dropped from near-zero to zero, pressure mounted for him to drop out of the race. When the news broke today that he was suspending his campaign ads on Facebook, some took this as a first step in suspending his campaign.

Accordingly, reporters have tried to ask Bernie Sanders today about whether his campaign is ending. Suffice it to say that he didn’t like the question very much. CNN’s Manu Raju tweeted that when he asked Sanders about dropping out, Sanders responded with this:

I’m dealing with a fucking global crisis. You know, we’re dealing with … Well right now, right now I’m trying to do my best to make sure that we don’t have an economic meltdown and that people don’t die. Is that enough for you to keep me busy for today?

Hoo boy, this is ugly. We get where Bernie Sanders is coming from. In his role as a U.S. Senator, he’s trying to help get the emergency coronavirus legislation passed today that the Republicans have been stalling on. But still, he’s melting down. If he truly feels he needs to focus on his role in the Senate, why is he insisting on continuing with a dead-end presidential campaign that only helps Donald Trump’s chances of remaining in power?
