Roger Stone has meltdown after realizing he’s going to prison
For the past several weeks, Palmer Report has been documenting the various Roger Stone associates who have said they’d been subpoenaed to testify before a Robert Mueller grand jury. It was clear to everyone paying attention that Stone was going to be indicted and arrested. Even Stone knew it, and he predicted that any criminal charges against him would have nothing to do with Trump-Russia. That all changed when he found himself referenced in this week’s indictment of twelve Russian government hackers.
It’s now clear that Special Counsel Robert Mueller intends to nail Roger Stone for having conspired with the Russian government and WikiLeaks on the theft and distribution of Democratic Party secrets. This isn’t some random money laundering charge that Stone can try to beat on a technicality. This is getting into treason territory. This is the stuff you go to prison for and never get out. Stone seems to have figured out, if his resulting meltdown is any indication.
Roger Stone was banned from Twitter a long time ago for a pattern of harassing and threatening various women. But he’s still active on Instagram. Shortly after the indictments came down on Friday, Stone tried pulling a fake-out, posting that he was “Exonerated in the Russian Indictments today!” No one bought this, of course.
After New York Magazine writer Jonathan Chait quickly framed the indictments as a sign of “collusion with Russia,” Stone flipped out and posted this: “The single worst ‘reporter’ in America Jonathan Chait serves up another steaming pile of BS. He then insisted that Chait was a “jerkoff.” It was fairly clear that Stone had just figured out he was going to prison. In case there was any doubt, the first comment posted to his Instagram post said “You’re going to jail.” No kidding. The only question now is precisely when Mueller’s indictment of Stone will drop.
