Donald Trump Jr and Jared Kushner have become obsessed with prison

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

There’s an old adage that says if you’re trying to figure out who committed a crime, just ask everyone involved what they think the punishment should be. Whoever suggests the lightest sentence is probably the one who committed the crime in question. Maybe that works and maybe it doesn’t. But it’s a telling sign when a criminal scandal threatens to send a large group of people to prison, and suddenly a few them have become obsessed with making prison life easier.

Awhile back, Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, who is likely going to prison for his role in the Trump-Russia scandal, and Donald Trump’s Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who is also likely going to prison for the same reason, began working together on prison reform. This seemed unlikely all around, as Sessions is a white supremacist who has spent his life trying to throw black people into prison for being black, and Kushner is a spoiled rich brat who couldn’t care less about issues that primarily impact the poor.

Now that we’re starting to see prison sentences being handed out in the Trump-Russia scandal, this has gone to the next level. Not only is Jared Kushner now hammering away at trying to make prison life easier, Donald Trump’s campaign adviser Brad Parscale is busy tweeting about Kushner’s efforts. Now Donald Trump Jr is retweeting Parscale’s tweet about Kushner and prison. In other words, these guys are really, really obsessed with prison.

This comes just a couple weeks after Donald Trump began indiscriminately yelling the word “jail” on Twitter, a reminder that with his limited vocabulary and intellect he doesn’t know the difference between jail and prison. He’ll find out in the end. It’s not a coincidence that the whole Trump gang is now talking about prison, just as the Paul Manafort trial is set to get underway.
