President Obama just kicked everything into high gear
We all knew President Barack Obama would end up endorsing Joe Biden for President, and endorsing him emphatically. We just didn’t know it would happen this quickly. With no ability to schedule an in-person event or gather a crowd, or go on tour together, or carry out any of the traditional endorsement routines, President Obama simply went ahead and announced it today – but wow does this ever kick things into high gear.

Here’s what stands out. It’s only April 14th, and the Democratic Party already has its nominee firmly in place. The nominee already has the full endorsement of the most recent President from his party, and from several of his most prominent 2020 primary challengers. It’s unusual for the non-incumbent party to be coming together this quickly in a presidential election cycle – but these are unusual times.
