President Biden makes his move

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

As Donald Trump and the hard right are doubling down on dangerous and bigoted anti-immigration rhetoric – insisting on mass deportations of all undocumented migrants living in the US – a move that’s largely impossible without the US becoming fully authoritarian. It would also be massively destructive to the US economy, driving up food prices significantly and probably single handedly destroying the restaurant and service industries, regardless of the Republican nonsense about immigrants having a negative impact on the economy.

While Donald Trump is looking at immigration as a crisis he can use to fulfill his plans of becoming a dictator on day one, President Biden is looking to actually solve the crisis by both ramping up border security, but also offering better ways to keep families together – with an improved path to citizenship for noncitizens married to US citizens, allowing them to apply for permanent residence without leaving the country.

He’s also making it easier for skilled employees to obtain a visa, recognizing their importance to the workforce. Among them, are the DACA recipients. Despite the accusations of President Biden being just as bad on immigration as the former guy, it’s not even particularly close – and that’s showing in just about every policy move President Biden is making. This is why we need to re-elect him on Nov 5 with a Democratic trifecta.
