President Biden lays down the law

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“Republicans are the party of open borders.” We need to keep saying it – because it’s true. Despite the GOP’s persistent concerns about national security and a preoccupation about what’s happening at the border, they’ve never wanted a practical solution to the problem, not even when they’re actually in power because the Trump administration actually made national security worse when it shut down the government and declared an emergency over the former guy not getting his border wall funding.

When they retook the House, they refused to vote on the toughest security bill in decades, that President Biden offered them. Even in the Senate, with Democrats taking up another vote, Republicans refused to give them the 60 votes necessary for it to pass.

Now, President Biden is signing an executive order to improve border security, drastically reducing the number of migrants permitted to cross, but making exceptions for children who cross the border unaccompanied.

By refusing to act, and taking the fall for Donald Trump who once claimed he’d accept any blame for failed border bills, the GOP left an opening for the Biden administration to crack down on the border crisis and despite their calls of too little too late, by bringing the topic up, they’re only further fueling the argument that they prevented any meaningful security measures to pass. Let’s keep Republicans on the defensive, and in doing so, make it clear that they don’t stand for anything – when we flip the House and re-elect President Biden on Nov 5.
