President Biden comes out swinging
President Biden is holding a press conference right now with the leaders of Johnson & Johnson and Merck, focusing on their COVID vaccine partnership that Biden created with the Defense Production Act. This is precisely the American leadership we need. Biden has come out swinging on this, which is why the United States now essentially leads the world in the vaccination process. This comes after Trump spent the entire pandemic refusing to invoke the DPA in ways that could have saved a lot of American lives.
The funny part is that this comes at a time when the major media outlets have all decided that Biden is somehow hiding from the public because it’s been awhile since he held a press conference for the sole purpose of taking reporters’ questions. But given the increasingly inane, baiting, and stupid questions that reporters keep asking at Jen Psaki’s daily press conferences, Biden probably just doesn’t want to give reporters the opportunity to distract the nation from the real issues or gin up phony scandals.
To that end, in the early afternoon today, CNN and MSNBC were both simultaneously trying to pretend that the “immigrant kids in cages” issue is somehow a Biden scandal. This comes after these same media outlets spent four years giving far too little coverage to the issue while Donald Trump was kidnapping these kids and locking them in cages. But now that scandal-free Biden is in charge and the media has to find some way to gin up ratings, it’s suddenly interested in the kids in cages. Funny how that works.
