Donald Trump descends into whacked out pre-dawn meltdown
The day is barely six hours old, the sun isn’t even up yet on the east coast, and Donald Trump has already ensured that today will be yet another embarrassment for him and the country. He’s the most blatant racist of his generation, and when all else fails, he decides to make things even worse by reminding us what a piece of racist filth he is. This time he’s ranting so incoherently, it’s difficult to even figure out what he thinks he’s saying.
Trump began his morning meltdown an hour earlier than usual today; perhaps he couldn’t sleep after seeing Robert Mueller hit Paul Manafort with the kinds of detailed criminal charges yesterday for the same kinds of financial crimes that we all know Mueller will nail Trump for in the end. Here’s what he tweeted before the sun even came up: “MS-13 gang members are being removed by our Great ICE and Border Patrol Agents by the thousands, but these killers come back in from El Salvador, and through Mexico, like water. El Salvador just takes our money, and Mexico must help MORE with this problem. We need The Wall!”
What does any of this even mean? Who knows. In the Trump era, ICE has become a de facto Gestapo; the next time the United States has a President, our guess is that dozens if not hundreds of ICE agents will be prosecuted for having committed violent crimes. Trump has been massively overstating the relevance of MS-13, even as he makes nonstop racist remarks about Mexico. We’re not sure why he’s decided to drag El Salvador into it this time, beyond the fact that they’re a predominantly nonwhite country. And of course Trump wants to build an idiotic racist wall, because every idiotic racist wants to build the wall.
We do know this much. When Donald Trump begins the day by waking up earlier than usual and ranting on Twitter more frantically than usual, it tends to mean that he thinks big trouble is coming for him later that day. We’re not quite sure what Trump thinks is coming today, but he sure seems to think this is going to be a bad day for him. Stay tuned.
