Roger Stone says his prayers
Roger Stone is quite the deranged whack job, and he’s always taken pride in having nine lives when it’s come to his life of crime, but even he seems to think the ride may be over. Just ahead of his hearing today, in which the judge will decide whether Stone’s threats against her are enough to revoke his bail and immediately throw him in jail, Stone is saying his prayers. Literally.
In his final Instagram post before his hearing, and what could end up being the final Instagram post of his life (there’s no social media in jail or prison), Roger Stone posted this: “Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
That’s right, the guy is desperate. Either he’s begging for God’s help, or he’s trying to convince the judge that he’s in fear of losing everything, which would be a sign of desperation in its own right. This comes after Roger Stone put his own house up for rent yesterday. He says he needs the money to pay his legal bills, but considering the timing, it’s fair to ask if Stone has simply concluded that he’s not going to need the house for himself anymore.
In any case, Roger Stone’s hearing is set to begin within the hour. We’ll see what Robert Mueller’s team has to say as far as recommendations regarding revoking Stone’s bail, and we’ll see what Judge Amy Berman Jackson ends up deciding. If Stone does go to jail today, considering the slam dunk nature of the criminal case against him, it’s highly unlikely he’ll ever have another day as a free man.
