It’s a video that’s already gone internationally viral, and for good reason. During the NATO summit yesterday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and Princess Anne were overheard making fun of Donald Trump for his ridiculous press conferences. Now Trump is taking his fragile ball and going home.

The video was particularly remarkable because these leaders were standing in a room full of people, and surely knew that they’d be overheard in one form or another, yet they didn’t care. Trump has become such a pariah and a punchline, these leaders must have all felt that their respective constituents would be just fine with hearing them make fun of the President of the United States, even though the United States is their ally. It was a stunning rebuke of Trump, the illegitimacy of his presidency, and the expectation on the part of world leaders that they won’t have to deal with him for much longer.

Once the video surfaced, Donald Trump announced to the media that he was canceling his scheduled press conference and going directly home instead. Trump also called Trudeau “two-faced.” After the media largely interpreted this as Trump pouting, his handlers tried to cover for him by posting this to his Twitter account: “We won’t be doing a press conference at the close of NATO because we did so many over the past two days.”

Nice try. We all know what happened here. Donald Trump was only grudgingly invited to the party to begin with, and once he acted like his usual jerk self and the other kids made fun of him for it, he stormed off in a huff. Now he’s coming back to the United States, where he’s in the process of being impeached. Trump is a pariah no matter where he goes. He’ll be a pariah in prison too.
