Donald Trump has psychotic meltdown as Portland officially chases his goons out of town
Whatever Donald Trump and his secretive federal contractors were doing in Portland, it now appears to be officially over. Thanks in part to the efforts of Oregon officials, and in part to the fierceness with which the Resistance pushed back, the Governor of Oregon has formally announced that the withdrawal of Trump’s goons is underway.
It’s yet another instance of Donald Trump trying an evil but stupid plan, facing major pushback, seeing the whole thing backfire on him, and ultimately caving. Suffice it to say that Trump isn’t taking it well, and rather than merely ignoring the debacle and hoping everyone forgets, he’s still running his mouth about it. He tweeted this bizarre rant:
If the Federal Government and its brilliant Law Enforcement (Homeland) didn’t go into Portland one week ago, there would be no Portland — It would be burned and beaten to the ground. If the Mayor and Governor do not stop the Crime and Violence from the Anarchists and Agitators immediately, the Federal Government will go in and do the job that local law enforcement was supposed to do!
It’s notable that Donald Trump is still making the empty threat to take over Portland, even as he’s surrendering and withdrawing his henchmen. And when Trump is at the point where he’s spewing histrionic nonsense like “there would be no Portland” if not for him, it’s a reminder that he’s barely even functional at this point.
