Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler tells Donald Trump to go to hell

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

For months, Donald Trump has tried to make America’s growing civil unrest even worse, in the hope of using it in his favor. He’s indeed made things far worse, but given his terrible approval rating and lack of a post-convention bump in the polls, none of it’s working out well for him either.

Trump’s latest stunt has centered around urging his goons to stir up violence in various cities, so he can offer to “fix” everything by sending in his own law enforcement personnel. We know this strategy doesn’t work for him, because he’s already tried it in other cities. Now he’s trying it in Portland, and let’s just say that the Mayor isn’t interested in taking the bait.

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler said this to Donald Trump today: “You’ve tried to divide us more than any other figure in modern history and now, you want me to stop the violence that you helped create. What America needs is for you to be stopped so that we can come back together as one America.”

This is how you defeat Donald Trump. You boldly and loudly call him out on his simplistic antics. You make sure voters in the middle are well aware that Trump is inciting all this violence on purpose. You make sure they know who to blame for it all. You don’t cower to Trump – ever.
