Get your popcorn: Matthew Whitaker is about to get carved up on live national television

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Even as Donald Trump tries to install his latest corrupt puppet William Barr to run the Department of Justice, it’s worth considering that his outgoing corrupt puppet at the DOJ, Matthew Whitaker, failed to do anything to stop Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Not only has Whitaker failed on every level, he’s in a heap of legal trouble – and we’re about to see him get carved up on live national television.

Earlier this month we brought you the news that the House Oversight Committee had asked Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to voluntarily show up and testify about, well, every corrupt thing he and Donald Trump have tried to do. That’s surely the last thing Whitaker wants to do, but he can be forcibly subpoenaed and ultimately arrested for failing to show up, so he’s agreed to go ahead and testify.

It’s still possible that Whitaker will show up and give uncooperative and/or dishonest answers to every question. But that would just bring him back to the prospect of being forced to come back and testify under subpoena and ultimately get arrested. And even if he tries to be uncooperative, he’s proven that he’s very stupid, which means the Democrats should be able to confuse him into accidentally revealing important information about Trump’s crimes. They can also use their allotted time to spell out what they already know about the Trump-Whitaker plot for television audiences who may not yet know everything that’s been reported.

Matthew Whitaker is scheduled to publicly testify before the House Oversight Committee on February 8th. That’s the day after Michael Cohen is scheduled to publicly testify before the House Intelligence Committee on February 7th. The bottom line: get your popcorn ready.
