Donald Trump posts bizarre tweet from Walter Reed about having the “plague”
Around lunchtime today, Dr. Sean Conley held a rosy press conference and unwittingly gave away that Donald Trump has been on supplemental oxygen, while also appearing to give away that Trump actually tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday, not Thursday. Then the White House issued an anonymous statement asserting that Trump’s condition is fairly dire.
Shortly after all this hubbub, Donald Trump tweeted this: “Doctors, Nurses and ALL at the GREAT Walter Reed Medical Center, and others from likewise incredible institutions who have joined them, are AMAZING!!!Tremendous progress has been made over the last 6 months in fighting this PLAGUE. With their help, I am feeling well!”
That’s right, now that Trump has the coronavirus, he’s referring to it as a “plague.” It’s about time. That classification would have been useful about 200,000 American deaths ago. In any case, this tweet doesn’t read to us like something Trump wrote. Instead it reads like something that one of Trump’s handlers tried to write in Trump’s style.
