“Pisses me off” – President Obama comes out swinging at Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

President Barack Obama promised that he’d come out swinging at the right time during the 2020 election cycle to make sure Donald Trump loses. With the pandemic going on, campaigning has been anything but traditional. That said, Obama has clearly decided that now is the time to start making his mark on the election.

During a private fundraiser this week, President Obama lashed out at Trump for his use of racist phrases to describe the coronavirus, saying “I don’t want a country in which the president of the United States is actively trying to promote anti-Asian sentiment and thinks it’s funny. I don’t want that. That still shocks and pisses me off.”

Obama is savvy enough to know that these kinds of remarks always end up leaking, so we can presume that his plan was for them to leak. Of course this is just the beginning. Obama surely knows that he can make his biggest impact once the general election season is fully underway, and we’re coming up on that timeframe rather soon.
