Donald Trump staffer caught trying to physically sabotage photographer at rally
Earlier this week, Donald Trump inexplicably predicted “violence” on the part of his political adversaries if they win the November elections. Logically speaking, if anyone were to get violent after an election, wouldn’t it be the side that loses? In any case, it’s always been Trump himself who has openly called for violence at his rallies. Now one of Trump’s staffers has been caught doing something which, while not violent, was nonetheless an attempt at physically sabotaging a photographer at a Trump rally.
AP photographer Evan Vucci posted this image on his verified Instagram account tonight, along with the caption “A volunteer member of the advance team for President Donald Trump blocks the lens of a photographer trying to take a photo of a demonstrator during a campaign rally in Evansville Indiana”:
Apparently, Team Trump has reached the point of desperation where they’re willing to go to extreme measures just to prevent a photographer from documenting the fact that a protester was at tonight’s Trump rally. In the old days, Trump could call on his supporters to beat up any protesters who turned up at his rallies. Now his staffers are trying to prevent the public from finding out such protesters even exist.
What’s remarkable here is just how stupid of a move this is. The media and the public have been paying less attention than ever to Donald Trump’s rallies. It’s not clear how many people among the general public even knew he was holding a rally in Indiana tonight, let alone how many of them would have seen a photographer’s photo of a protester. But because one of Trump’s staffers has been caught trying to physically sabotage a photographer, now it’s a story that people are going to hear about.
