“Physical confrontation” breaks out between Donald Trump’s feuding babysitters
Donald Trump’s transition period is already a disaster for him, given that his highest profile nominee Matt Gaetz has been forced to drop out among ugly scandal, and that some of his other high profile nominees are also in jeopardy. Now it turns out things are even uglier behind the scenes than they look from the outside.
The Washington Post now reports that two of Trump’s top advisers, Boris Epshteyn and Howard Lutnick, recently got into a “physical confrontation” with each other while feuding over how to manage Trump’s shambolic transition team meetings. This comes on the heels of prior reports that things have turned ugly between Epshteyn and Elon Musk.
What stands out is that Trump truly is scraping the bottom of the barrel here. The semi-competent people from his first go-round are all gone. At this point Trump is relying on Epshteyn, who’s currently awaiting criminal trial on state charges, Musk, who’s mentally incompetent, Donald Trump Jr, who is also mentally incompetent, and other people who just have absolutely no idea what they’re doing.
Meanwhile Donald Trump is clearly too senile to be able to steer his ship of fools, or to realize that he’s surrounded by massive incompetence. This helps explain why something as clueless as the Gaetz pick happened, and why the Trump transition is such a disaster. No one involved has a clue and they’re turning on each other already.
