Donald Trump begins rationalizing his own downfall in bizarre hospital phone call with Rudy Giuliani

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier today the news surfaced that a hospitalized and rattled Donald Trump keeps asking the people around him if he’s going to die from his apparently serious coronavirus infection. Now it turns out Trump is calling up people from his hospital bed and rationalizing his own downfall, including his pal Rudy Giuliani.

Trump is now telling Rudy that he had no choice but to go out and risk exposing himself to coronavirus “so the American people stopped being afraid of it so we could deal with it responsibly,” according to a surreal new article from the New York Post, a pro-Trump tabloid. Trump added, “If I had handled it any other way, I would have created more panic, more fear in the American people.”

So now we know that Donald Trump has reached the point where he’s afraid he’s going to die, and he’s trying to rationalize it to himself by insisting that he had no choice but to hold narcissistic political rallies and mask-less Rose Garden shindigs. Well okay then. Trump can tell himself whatever he wants to. But the dark reality is that he negligently and dishonestly refused to respond to a pandemic that’s killed more than 200,000 Americans, and is now in real danger of killing him.
