Peter Navarro has been FOUND GUILTY

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump underling Peter Navarro has been found guilty of Contempt of Congress today by a trial jury. This was entirely expected, but it’s also good to see. Idiots like Navarro have been taunting investigators for a long time, and now Navarro is finding out that you can’t just thumb your nose at legitimate probes.

Contempt of Congress is considered a fairly minor offense, so it’s unlikely that Navarro will be sentenced to more than a few months in prison, and he may also be able to stay out of prison during those appeals.

This is a very different situation than, say, the serious criminal charges that Donald Trump and others are facing. If they’re convicted they’ll be sentenced to several years in prison, and it’s unlikely they’ll be able to remain out of prison during appeal.

Of course now Peter Navarro has to sit back and hope that Contempt of Congress is the only criminal charge he ends up facing. It’s not clear whether his antics have put him in the legal crosshairs of DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith. Smith’s grand jury is back in session as of today, so someone in Trump world is on track to get indicted before much longer.
