Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer drop the Christmas Eve hammer on Donald Trump
Donald Trump has managed to shut down the government, offend the military, crash the stock market, newly swear allegiance to our enemies, and have a pity-filled meltdown. It’s a fitting Christmas Eve crescendo for a guy whose presidency is effectively over, and who has a prison cell waiting for him the second he’s ousted. Now Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer is dropping the hammer on him.
Donald Trump already lost his big televised showdown with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer earlier this month. Trump has since thrown a complete tantrum for having lost, and he’s trying to take everyone down with him. Schumer and Pelosi fired back harshly today, both posting the same tweet, and spelling out things in no uncertain terms:
“It’s Christmas Eve and President Donald Trump is plunging the country into chaos. The stock market is tanking and the President is waging a personal war on the Federal Reserve—after he just fired the Secretary of Defense. Instead of bringing certainty into people’s lives, he’s continuing the Trump Shutdown just to please right-wing radio and TV hosts. Meanwhile, different people from the same White House are saying different things about what the President would accept or not accept to end his Trump Shutdown, making it impossible to know where they stand at any given moment.”
So what now? Donald Trump only has two options left. One is to quickly negotiate a resignation deal in exchange for reduced criminal charges which will still send him to prison, but he might get out someday. The other is to drag this out longer until he’s forcibly ousted, which will ensure that he goes to prison for life and that he loses all his assets. Merry Christmas Eve!
