Donald Trump hits the panic button
Donald J. Trump is nervous. Based on his activity over the weekend, he is more than nervous, he is panicked. He knows that the walls are closing in around him and he does not have much time. On Monday, an announcement was made that the federal prosecutors for the Southern District of New York plan to indict Michael Cohen by the end of this month. Paul Manafort’s jury is deliberating. George Papadopoulos may soon be behind bars for lying to the FBI and to Mueller. Some or all of the above has Trump rattled, bigly.
Trump has blasted a number of tweets over the past twenty-four hours. Each day he takes things to a new low and creates more danger to law enforcement and our democracy. Today, Trump called Mueller and other federal law enforcement officers “thugs.” Whatever happened to Trump’s “law and order” and support of all law enforcement? I guess it’s only applicable when it’s not affecting him. Trump tweeted: “Disgraced and discredited Bob Mueller and his whole group of Angry Democrat Thugs spent over 30 hours with the White House Councel, only with my approval, for purposes of transparency. Anybody needing that much time when they know there is no Russian Collusion is just someone….”
He followed that immediately (the four dots are a clue his mind is still rambling): “….looking for trouble. They are enjoying ruining people’s lives and REFUSE to look at the real corruption on the Democrat side – the lies, the firings, the deleted Emails and soooo much more! Mueller’s Angry Dems are looking to impact the election. They are a National Disgrace!”
He followed that by the following tweet: “Where’s the Collusion? They made up a phony crime called Collusion, and when there was no Collusion they say there was Obstruction (of a phony crime that never existed). If you FIGHT BACK or say anything bad about the Rigged Witch Hunt, they scream Obstruction!” One would never have imagined that a sitting or former president of this great nation would accuse the Justice Department of being “thugs” and a “national disgrace.” The only thugs in this story are the publisher of the tweets quoted above and his posse of Russian puppets; he is the “National Disgrace.”
