Donald Trump hits the panic button
Donald Trump is on a clear path to losing the election. At this point it’s just a matter of when the media calls the race for Joe Biden; it could come tonight or tomorrow morning. Now Trump is doing what he usually does: belatedly panicking once it’s too late.
This evening Trump has determined that his election lawyers aren’t very good, and he’s asked his handlers to find him “better lawyers,” according to an unintentionally hilarious new CNN report. At this point Trump has already lost, he’s hours away from the hammer dropping on him, and now he’s thinking about changing up his team.
It’s too late. At these margins, Donald Trump was never going to get anywhere with legal action anyway – but if there was a time for him to take legal action, it was when he was artificially ahead in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Now it’s far too late, and Trump has virtually no leverage left.
Once the election is called for Joe Biden, Trump becomes irrelevant. No wonder he’s panicking. But it’s far too late for him to now suddenly be trying to rip up his playbook; the game is over.
