The other Russian takeover we have to worry about
Donald Trump’s greatest skill is manipulating public opinion with lies. If Trump attacks someone it is because he fears that person and hopes to overpower them by bullying. He spins stories in his favor, or buys the ones he wants to shut down. Fox News is jokingly referred to as state-owned media, but that joke is starting to fall flat. Fox only makes a meager effort to appear balanced and fair.
Rupert Murdoch, the founder of Fox News, isn’t exactly known for his ethics. He has long been in the tabloid news business, which is like the mafia of the press. He was also implicated, meaning he got away with it, in 2012 for spying on celebrities and politicians and selling their information. Who knows who he may have sold all that information to over the years …Putin? The FBI seriously investigated Murdoch’s ties to the Kremlin back in 2012 as it appeared there may have been a connection to this lowlife blackmailing scheme he operated. Whatever it was, someone made it all go away. Now there seems to be some strange kind of symbiotic connection between Fox News, the Republican Party in general, and Trump in particular.
Fox isn’t the only outlet that may have been infiltrated by Russia. Just look at the massive campaign launched during the 2016 U.S. election to brainwash people into believing the most outlandish stories. Their aim was to cause chaos and stir up divisiveness as a smokescreen for their manipulations. They want us to fight each other and be weak, like they have oppressed so many of their citizens in Russia. Putin has basically created a mob mentality in different parts of the world by using these false media stories and by preying on people’s fears based on prejudice and racism. Rupert Murdoch could very well be another greedy media mogul mixed up in in Putin’s global web of misinformation.
There is already evidence that Russia is targeting the U.S. midterm elections as well. Three campaigns have been targeted, per Microsoft, one of which was revealed as Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO). McCaskill’s seat is particularly important to Senate Democrats this year. It is safe to assume they are targeting key spots to make sure the Democrats don’t win the majority in Congress. This isn’t freedom, this is an attempt at a Machiavellian hostile takeover by a rogue nation.
