Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Yesterday the Washington Post reported that the Abbott coronavirus test was widely inaccurate, with as many as half of people who have the virus testing negative for it. We didn’t find that particularly surprising, as Donald Trump has been publicly hyping the Abbott test for weeks โ€“ and whenever he promotes a product or business, it usually means there’s something very wrong with that product or business. Now it’s gotten even worse.

The FDA has just issued a warning about “possible accuracy concerns” with the Abbott test, according to CNN. Keep in mind that Donald Trump loosely controls the FDA, and yet it still issued this warning, which suggests that the test really is just that dangerously inaccurate.
What’s remarkable is that the Trump White House has been relying on the Abbott test for its own employees. This shocking number of false negative results means it’s entirely possible that, for instance, Mike Pence and Stephen Miller actually have coronavirus but have been testing negative each day. Oops.
