Oh no, not this again

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Even when Donald Trump was doing daily briefings about the pandemic, he wasn’t actually trying to do anything about the pandemic. His briefings were all about creating the illusion that he cared, and that he was on top of it, and that the pandemic was magically going to go away. When he stopped doing the briefings, it was a relief, because at least we didn’t have to deal with his babbling idiocy and disinformation each day.

But with Trump’s poll numbers collapsing and the pandemic growing worse than ever, he’s now decided to begin doing his calamitous briefings again. CNN says that he’ll be holding one tomorrow at 5pm eastern time, and that there will be a “lot of briefings in the next week.” Oh lordy.

If there’s an upside, it’s that when Donald Trump was holding his daily coronavirus briefings, he said a lot of idiotic things that served to hurt him in the polls. So maybe this desperate stunt on his part will serve to help drive his numbers even lower, thus increasing his odds of ouster in November. But what we need right now is real leadership – and there’s none to be had from this guy.
