Donald Trump is about to make an even bigger fool of himself tomorrow

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has had arguably the most embarrassing week in the history of the United States presidency, and that includes the week in which Richard Nixon resigned. Trump has tanked the economy with ever-increasing tariffs, even as he’s begun referring to himself as a messiah, making clear that he’s irreparably divorced from mental competence. But don’t worry, it’s about to get worse. Much worse.

The best thing that could happen to Donald Trump right now, and in fact the best thing that could happen for the United States right now, would be if Trump simply disappeared for a week and said nothing at all. But we wouldn’t get that lucky. This evening the White House official Twitter account posted this reminder of what’s about to happen next: “President Donald Trump will depart this evening for the 2019 G7 summit in Biarritz, France!” Oh dear lord.

That’s right. Donald Trump, who just spent the week making clear that he’s not stable enough to so much as tie his shoelaces without setting the room on fire, is now headed abroad to represent the United States on the world stage, while in the presence of a number of world leaders who hate him. There’s no way this can possibly go wrong.

Oh, but it gets even worse. Donald Trump has been hinting that he might use his time at the G7 to try to convince the other member nations to reinstate Russia. That’ll go over like a lead balloon. In fact it’s probably the most embarrassing thing that Trump could try to do while at the G7. Then again, even though he’s falling to pieces by the hour, Trump seems to fully grasp that he still answers to Vladimir Putin.
