Oh good, Donald Trump just confessed again

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier today we pointed out that Donald Trump seemed to be flip flopping in real time on whether or not he really wanted to confess to having asked foreign countries to help him rig the 2020 election. First he confessed to it in front of the television cameras on the White House lawn. Then this evening he tweeted that he didn’t do it. But now… well, you guessed it.

Tonight Donald Trump posted this tweet: “As the President of the United States, I have an absolute right, perhaps even a duty, to investigate, or have investigated, CORRUPTION, and that would include asking, or suggesting, other Countries to help us out!”

Okay then, so now we’re back to Donald Trump confessing to everything while insisting that he had a right to commit the crimes involved. Considering that Trump’s Twitter account has spent the evening alternating between tweeting confessions and denials, and at one point simply tweeted “ELECTION INTERFERENCE!” with no context at all, we’re still wondering if perhaps Trump’s various advisers are using his Twitter account to push competing narratives on his behalf.

In any case, what matters is that Donald Trump stood in front of the TV cameras today and not only confessed, but committed the crime again for all to see. He can keep walking it back on Twitter and then confessing on Twitter all he wants. It’s too late for that. TV footage changes minds. Televised confessions change even more minds. Everyone knows Trump is guilty now. He’s already backed himself into the kind of corner where he has to argue that sure, he’s guilty, but it was somehow okay for him to commit this crime. Good luck with that one.
