Appearing in court, Eric Adams stood quietly before the judge. The judge asked many probing questions, including, asking Adams if he was aware that the charges were not being dismissed with prejudice but without prejudice, meaning they could come back at any time.
Your Honor, Adams replied quietly, I am not afraid because I have not committed any crimes. Pshaw! As Joe Biden, would say come on, man! I’ve never heard such poppy-cock, and Adams is definitely studying his depraved mentor Donald Trump, learning to lie like him, to slither like him, to become him.
The hearing ended with no final decision made. In the meantime, on Thursday, Governor Hochul announced that for now anyway she would not rush to remove the embittered Mayor, although she would put in place certain conditions he must meet to stay in office..
This in my opinion, is a bad decision and it will have ramifications for the New York Governor as this hoopla grows worse by the way. So we’ll have to see what happens with that. Several of you have mentioned Lawrence O’Donnell, saying that the New York governor can’t just fire Eric Adams.
I would say that’s true to an extent. What would happen is Hochul, if she did decide to go that way, could indeed force Adams out. As O’Donnell says, there would be a hearing, but first Adams would be suspended for at least a month. So then the deputy mayor would be running things at that point. Yes, Eric Adams could protest It. But since the governor’s office would make up the rules, I don’t see much coming of that. That is my opinion anyway.
In the meantime, one would hope that the Governor reconsiders her decision. Adams is a ticking timebomb standing at attention, waiting to do Donald Trump’s bidding. The sooner he goes the better for everyone.
