October surprise in Waukesha
Why is it a big deal that the Republican-leaning mayor of Republican-leaning Waukesha, Wisconsin is endorsing Kamala Harris? Because it gives Republicans in Waukesha permission to vote for Kamala (or perhaps more relevantly, just stay home) if they don’t like Trump. Remember, a Republican or former Trump voter who stays home in 2024 is basically a half-vote for Kamala.
It’s not just about driving turnout on your side. It’s also about driving turnout downward on the other side. Make the other candidate seem icky (not hard to do in this instance). Make voters on the other side embarrassed to vote for their party’s nominee. Wear them down until they decide to just stay home.
On a national level, we’ve seen Liz Cheney, Dick Cheney, John Kelly, etc, etc, give Republicans permission to not vote for Trump. Now, in one of the key regions of one of the key swing states, we’ve seeing a Republican-leaning mayor give his constituents permission to not vote for Trump. This is precisely what you want to see down the stretch. Donate to Palmer Report now: click here
