Donald Trump’s incoherent new Obamacare – Affordable Care Act stunt is whacked out even for him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has spent every minute of the past three-plus years trying to dismantle and abolish the Affordable Care Act. Trump has used executive orders and court battles to try to chip away at Obamacare – particularly the part that mandates coverage of preexisting conditions.

Now Trump has held a quasi-press conference at his country club this evening to announce, among other things, that he plans to sign an executive order mandating the coverage of preexisting conditions. To be clear, this is already the law, meaning that Trump’s executive order will do literally nothing. Also, this is a law that Trump is currently in the process of trying to abolish.

Even more bizarrely, Trump announced this evening that no one has ever tried to provide coverage for preexisting conditions before. This is incoherently whacked out, even for him. Of course he’s hoping that the ignorant dumbasses who still support him won’t have any idea that he’s just making things up. Trump’s problem is that his fanatical base alone isn’t nearly large enough to get him reelected – and he’s losing a whole lot of people who voted for him last time but never really loved him.
