Donald Trump’s clinical obsession with President Obama takes a demented and criminal turn

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump’s negative obsession with President Obama is so far over the top as to be clinical in nature. Trump routinely makes up fake poll numbers so he can brag about how he’s supposedly more popular than Obama. Trump also makes up false accusations against Obama that are so demented, they read like something from the Unabomber. Now it turns out Trump’s obsession with Obama has extended into utterly deranged and criminal territory.

Trump and his goons hired private investigators to dig into the personal lives of the Obama administration officials who negotiated the Iran peace deal, in the hope of discrediting the deal, according to a new report from the Guardian. Considering that they’ve sunk this low, it’s nearly a given that they didn’t care whether any uncovered “dirt” was true or not. This scheme also attempted to expose (or more realistically, frame) two Obama administration officials for leaking intel to the media about the deal.

There are almost no words to properly characterize this level of villainy, though MSNBC commentator Malcolm Nance hit on something when he referred to it as being in line with something the “Stasi” would have done in East Germany. Considering that Donald Trump currently (illegitimately) occupies the office of President of the United States, and he was using privately hired goons to carry out these antics, this is one of the most disturbing crimes he’s committed to date.

This isn’t the kind of line you only cross once. So it raises questions about who else Donald Trump has been trying to dig up real or fake dirt on through extra-legal means. Has he done this to reporters? Has he done this to political adversaries? Over the past month Trump has publicly hinted that he’s holding blackmail material over Republican Senator Rand Paul and Democratic Senator Jon Tester. Is this how he’s been getting it? It’s becoming more clear by the day that once Trump is ousted from power, he’ll spend every minute of the rest of his life in prison.
