George Conway just went nuclear on Donald Trump

Late on Monday night, Donald Trump had a surreal, offensive, and lengthy meltdown about the Lincoln Project TV ad that had gone viral earlier in the day. In the process Trump unwittingly gave the ad, and the group, all kinds of free exposure. Now one of ringleaders of the Lincoln Project, George Conway, is going nuclear on Trump.

The best Donald Trump could come up with was to call George Conway a “Moonface” – and we’re still not sure if Trump intended it as a racial slur against Conway’s Asian heritage, or a dig at Conway’s weight. Either way, it was offensive and dimwitted. Conway turns out to be far better at this. He published an op-ed in the Washington Post that eviscerated Trump on every level. These two sentences alone sum it up:

[Trump] claims to be a “genius,” even though he apparently can’t spell, can’t punctuate, can’t do math and lacks geographic literacy, and even though his own appointees have privately called him a “moron,” an “idiot,” a “dope,” and “dumb.” Now, God help us, he fancies himself an expert in virology and infectious diseases.

Meanwhile the Lincoln Project just announced that it’s raised more than a million dollars as a result of its TV ad and the free exposure that Donald Trump gave it. That money will ostensibly be used to run additional anti-Trump ads on TV. You can read George Conway’s full column here.
