The real reason Robert Mueller is waiting for November

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

For the better part of the last fifteen months, liberals have been waiting for Robert Mueller to show his hand. With every indictment against one of Trump’s associates, those on both sides keep asking “what is he waiting for?” It’s become clear – he’s waiting for November. Mueller will release his evidence regardless of who is in control, but he would obviously want to make sure that it’s used to its fullest potential. To come forward now, while Republicans control every level of government, would be fruitless.

The Republican-controlled Congress has made clear that it doesn’t matter to them what Trump does, as long as they can continue to pass legislation designed to benefit the wealthy and harm those most vulnerable (elderly and children). Power matters far more than morality or ethics with this group. Even if Mueller has evidence proving without a doubt that Trump is guilty of obstruction and collusion (and more), the Republican-controlled House is unlikely to do more than issue a sternly worded censure.

However, all that changes if the Democrats retake the House and win a major Senate election (like Beto/Cruz). While impeaching Trump would not remove him from office, enough Senate Republicans might join their Democrat counterparts, if they come to fear they could be vulnerable in 2020. This only happens if liberals swarm the polls next month. Republicans have been hedging their bets, hoping that traditional liberal voting habits will win out.

If liberals truly want to see Donald Trump (and all his cronies) held accountable for their actions, they must vote in numbers never seen before. November is coming, and so is Robert Mueller.
