Note about the Palmer Report comment section
Awhile back we added a Disqus comment section to Palmer Report articles. In most aspects this has been an overwhelming success. I do want to clarify that certain behaviors are not allowed in the comment section and will not be tolerated:
– If we catch anyone using multiple accounts to try to make their own comments look more popular, they’ll be banned.
– We do not allow bickering in general. If a discussion devolves into two commenters yelling … “You’re a troll” … “No you’re the troll!” … “No you’re the real troll!” … at each other, such comments will all be removed. If you honestly believe someone is a troll or a bot, use the Report button to let us know about it, and we’ll look into it. But bickering between two commenters prevents others from being able to participate in a constructive conversation. If two commenters have personal grudges against each other, they should simply ignore each other’s comments instead of making it personal.
– While cursing is allowed in the comments, we do not allow gender slurs, sexist remarks, homophobic slurs, and so on. Just because you hurl such things at political villains, it doesn’t make it okay.
These kinds of inappropriate behaviors apply to less than five percent of all commenters. I want to thank the other 95% of you for keeping the comment section a respectful, productive place for discussion.
Please note that if you find yourself banned and have no idea why, it may have been an error or a fluke. In such case you can email us and we’ll attempt to resolve it. In such case we’ll need to know the email address and/or username you’re using in the comment section. However, please do NOT email us over disputes about a specific comment, or gripes about another commmenter; that’s what the reporting system is for.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer
