No wonder Joe Biden is winning

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It is so refreshing to have normalcy back in the White House, and it was even more refreshing to read a piece in the Washington Post called “Weightlifting, Gatorade, birthday calls: Inside Biden’s day.” Biden does not try to be normal; he just is. Our lives are so stressful these days that it is nice to read fun things about the man who is trying to alleviate some of that stress. Videos show him bantering with employees at a taco shop, warning his staff that these are “MY tacos.” He then explained that the last time he got tacos on the road, by the time he got back to the car, they were all gone.

According to those closest to Biden, he craves routine and his favorite treats, which include orange Gatorade and chocolate chip cookies. They also revealed that Biden meets privately with people who write letters to him, and he will interrupt a high-level meeting if family calls. Washington Post spoke with seven people familiar with Biden’s routine, speaking on condition of anonymity, and they agreed to give Washington Post a look inside his day. It does not include hate-tweeting and scowling at news channels.

President Biden typically begins his day with a workout, including weightlifting with his personal trainer. One source revealed that during the campaign, Biden biked both on a traditional bike and a Pelaton. Apparently, the Pelaton is a national secret, as they would not reveal whether Biden brought it with him to the White House. Unlike the last occupant of the White House, Biden does not veg out on television. Instead, he is given “The Bulletin,” which contains morning news clips compiled by his aides. He then walks to the Oval Office to begin his day, where he received the President’s Daily Brief. He also meets once a week with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken and conducts a regular check-in with Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley. Of course, Biden has critics, but consider the sources.

Kevin McCarthy recently claimed that Biden “lacks stamina” and that he does not have “Donald Trump’s energy.” Yeah, and we are so much better off without that negative energy. Chris Coons responded to McCarthy, saying that “chaotic hyperactivity is hardly preferable to Biden’s steadiness.” Indeed, that steadiness is what we are all enjoying. It is certainly a pleasure to hear how President Biden lunches with Vice President Harris once a week. He normally eats a soup and salad, but he offsets that with his beloved chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip ice cream, and saltwater taffy that he keeps in the Oval Office. One long-term friend joked that President Biden “has the tastes of a 5-year-old,” but that is okay too. It is merely part of his normalcy, something we craved over the last four years of chaotic anger and do-nothingness. Having President Biden in the Oval Office is truly a breath of fresh air, and it is nice to read that he is just a regular person like the rest of us.
