No wonder Donald Trump keeps talking about reopening for Easter

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump keeps saying that he wants to reopen the country for business by Easter, April 12th. He seems intent on blowing off the scientific guidance which suggests that doing so would likely get hundreds of thousands of Americans killed. So why Easter? Why not even sooner? Why not tomorrow? After all, the death toll would be apocalyptic either way.

Most of us have been focused on the notion that Donald Trump is trying to pander to the conservative fake Christians who voted for him. He wants to save Easter, so they’ll view him as even more of a messiah, and they’ll vote for him again in November (the ones who don’t die from Easter exposure anyway). And there may be something to that. But it looks like Trump may have something more specific in mind:

That’s right, this March 10th tweet from the Trump Hotel in Washington DC reveals that Donald Trump was set to personally cash in big-time on Easter Sunday, until this pesky pandemic went and shut down his hotel. Would Trump really try to get hundreds of thousands of people killed just so he can make a buck and keep his failing hotels from bankruptcy? Sure he would.
