No wonder Donald Trump Jr is panicking
Since Donald Trump left office, I’ve made it point of not writing about Donald Trump Jr more than occasionally. Junior tweets something stupid just about every day, but at this point most of it is of little consequence, because he’s of little consequence. After all, his family is now fully out of power.
But this weekend Donald Trump Jr tweeted something that was deranged and stupid even for him. He posted a rather explicitly violent fake video of Donald Trump hitting President Joe Biden in the head with a golf ball, sending him tumbling. This isn’t the first time that Junior has tweeted something violent. But this just felt too on the nose. And given that Biden is in obviously better physical shape than the increasingly decrepit Donald Trump, the tweet seemed destined to backfire.
What really stood out is that Donald Trump Jr now appears to be panicking. He’s reduced to tweeting something that in the eyes of the average American makes him look bad, and makes his father look bad, and if anything only ends up making Biden look sympathetic. The thing about panickers is they always get stupid with their desperation.
This all comes even as the mainstream media has finally begun paying proper attention to the Manhattan District Attorney’s criminal case against Donald Trump and the Trump Organization. The DA’s office has Trump’s tax returns. It’s met with Michael Cohen eight times. It has the cooperation of the Trump Organization CFO’s family member. It’s hired a prosecutor with a speciality in white collar crime family cases. Cohen stated on Friday night that very soon we’ll start seeing indictments flying, and he’s in better position to know than most.
With the increasingly comprehensive nature of the criminal case in New York, and the fact that it now appears to in the finishing touches stage, it’s looking more likely than ever that Donald Trump Jr. is about to be indicted and arrested alongside his father. No wonder Junior is panicking.
