No rest for the wicked

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The wicked never sleep and their work is never done. And this week, there was indeed no rest for the wicked. As we celebrate — and celebrate — our incredible week, two mischief-makers have been up to their old ways. That would be the lowliest members of the extreme court.

Extreme Justice Clarence Thomas and Extreme Justice Samuel Alito are whom I speak of. And with Thomas especially, whispers have started, reigniting talk of impeachment of Thomas. This all has to do with the January 6 House committee. They’ve been seeking records from Arizona republican Chair Kelli Ward.

The reason the committee wants these very important records is because they want to see what they may contain regarding Donald Trump’s efforts to stop democracy and steal the 2020 presidential election.

And Ward did not want to give them the records. And this matter went all the way up to the supreme court. Happily, the highest court in the land sided with us and said the records must be handed over. Except for two Justices — two Justices who appeared to think otherwise.

Ahh — you see where this is going. There is no rest for the wicked, I suppose. Alito and Thomas dissented. This is now the SECOND time Clarence Thomas has attempted to obstruct the January 6 investigation. This wouldn’t have anything to do with his wife now, would it?

Remember — back in January, Justice Thomas was the only Justice to vote against the release of Trump records to the committee. It is just incredible that he’s doing it again.

Thomas’s dissent caused unbridled fury, with many people renewing their calls for his impeachment. And he should be impeached. His ego truly knows no bounds. We do not have the votes to impeach Thomas but we can shine a light on his awful behavior. You can also sign the petition calling for his impeachment if you have not yet done so. As of now, there are well over one million signatures.

It would be so very nice if the Chief Justice would assert himself and have a talk with the wicked Thomas about actually doing his job properly and acting like a Justice and not a political activist with an agenda.

In reality, however there is not much Roberts could do to make Thomas recuse. It is just incredible that our Justices have so much unchecked power. That really does need to change.
